The Society of Petroleum Engineers hosted the fundraiser for the 34th year in the row to raise money for local families struggling with medical bills. In 2016, the Crawfish Boil raised $73680 for this cause. An estimated 4,500 people including all the volunteers showed up for the event. The Crawfish Boil has grown so much over the years that they now order 13,500 pounds of crawfish, 850 pounds of potatoes, 850 pounds onions, 900 pounds of brats and hot dogs, and 3,000 ears of sweet corn. And of course, plenty of beer! Rookie DracuLaura was one of our crew who helped pour out cold draughts for hungry patrons.
